Whoops...I forgot the lingo already

So, my last post earlier this morning I titled it "second month." Ok ok, I guess I should just get used to the lingo of all of the other pregnant mommies out there and go by weeks. So, officially I'm 8 weeks along. Two months...same difference, but don't tell that to the doctor. I am so confused as to how they calculate how far along you are. Let's just put it this way...I'm pretty sure I know the exact date of conception. So when I went to the doctor two and a half weeks later, he told me I was almost five weeks along. Huh? It seems that they measure back from your last period date and not the date of conception, because let's face it...who is anal enough to know the exact date? I'll tell you...people who work in TV news and who RARELY see each other...catch my drift? Anyway, I still don't get it, so by the doctors measure, I'm 8 weeks along. Whatever.

AND, technically, you're pregnant for 40 weeks. Yeah, that's 10 months, not 9...I want my money back. For the record, I'll never understand that one either.

There will be many things over the next 32 weeks I simply won't get, but that's ok. I'll learn as I go along.
